NEO-6M GPS Module with Large Ceramic Antenna & EEPROM – Fast Positioning for Arduino Drone, ESP32 Tracker & STM32 Projects.
Key Features & Benefits
High-Gain Ceramic Antenna: 25x25mm active antenna for enhanced sensitivity, enabling quick satellite lock and stable outdoor positioning.
Configuration Save & Hot Start: Onboard EEPROM stores settings. Backup battery supports hot start, significantly reducing Time-To-First-Fix after power loss.
Wide Voltage Compatibility: 3.3V-5V operation, directly interfaces with Arduino, ESP32, STM32, and flight controllers without level shifters.
Visual Status LED: Built-in indicator shows satellite search and fix status via blinking patterns for easy monitoring.
Plug & Play UART Interface: Standard TTL UART communication at default 9600 baud rate for easy integration.
Product Description
This module, built around the proven U-blox NEO-6M chipset, integrates a high-performance antenna and data retention features. It serves as a reliable and easy-to-use core for any project requiring location data—be it UAV navigation, vehicle/asset tracking, outdoor weather stations, or portable IoT location devices.
️ Important Notes (Proactively Prevent Negative Reviews)
【Pin Status】Pins (headers) are NOT pre-soldered. You need to solder the pin headers or female sockets yourself based on your project needs, or connect using Dupont wires directly.
【FIX REQUIREMENT】 Must Use Outdoors: GPS signals cannot penetrate buildings. For first use or after long storage, place the module outdoors under a clear sky and keep it stationary. The first fix may take several minutes.
【CORE SETTING】 Baud Rate Match is MANDATORY: The module's default UART baud rate is 9600. You MUST set the connected serial port in your code or ground station software to 9600 baud.
Correct Pin Connection:
VCC: Connect to 3.3V or 5V positive.
GND: Connect to power ground.
TX: Connect to the RX pin of your MCU (e.g., ESP32).
RX: Connect to the TX pin of your MCU (e.g., ESP32).
About Backup Battery: The coin cell on the small board maintains the clock and ephemeris for hot starts. If the module is stored for months, the battery may drain, requiring a cold start.
